After being in the field of Dermatology for more than 8 years, I have become aware that many people have no idea of what, when, where, how, why, who should they turn to when they have skin, hair and nail problems.

I had been at Seattle Children's Hospital, USA to complete Paediatric Dermatology Fellowship when I realised that Indians have a gift of easy access to Dermatologists as compared to USA/UK/Australia citizens. USA citizens need to wait alteast for 6-9 months after being referred from their family physicians for a Dermatology consult with a next follow-up being available only after a gap of 3-12 months.

Many millennials often turn to social media for fun as well as find answers for their problems. While others rely on their parents, elders, medical shop owners, friends, local healthcare providers for tips and tricks which are low cost, or rather free solutions if they work. Its also a matter of faith and trust when you accept these advises.

But if an Indian wishes he/she can access a Dermatologist the same day as they identify a skin/hair or nail problem at an affordable price. So, why not grasp this opportunity and visit the Dermatologist directly rather than trying out all 'OTC creams, Nuske and Portions' from unreliable sources and play with your own Skin, Hair and Nails - wasting money and time without effective results.
